Light Towards Heaven in Centrum Polska

LIGHT TOWARDS THE HEAVEN

On the last day of the Finale, 13 January, at 11AM PST, every team in Poland in RL sends the traditional "light towards the heaven". We send our light to Good Angels, be it in form of lighter, a candle, a torch or fireworks. In this one moment we believe we are visible from above.

In Second Life we have prepared very special "Light Towards Heaven", which can be received at SlangLife island. It is given to everyone as a free item, worn on spine and two hands. The script will start working at 11AM PST, sending the light - but you have to see it for yourselves :)

The dispenser of the Light Towards Heaven looks like this:

And it is available on SlangLife, Second Krakow, Second Poznan and Centrum Polska.

All the lights will turn on at 11 AM PST, it's recommended to attach them a bit earlier for a better efect. If it's 10:55 and your light is not working, don't be alarmed. It will turn on when the time comes :)

INSTRUCTIONS

1. IMPORTANT! Turn off your AO and detach all the objects overriding standard animations.

2. Open your Inventory and go to Recent Items tab.

3. Right-click on GOCC - Light Towards Heaven folder and pick Add to outfit. WARNING! DO NOT pick Replace Outfit. If you do, you'll end up naked, bald and dressed only in The Light Towards Heaven ;)

4. The Light Towards Heaven is worn on Spine, Left Hand and Right Hand. Don't attach any other attachment to these body parts, because you will remove the Light.

5. For the best effect:
- force sun to midnight (menu World > Force Sun > Midnight)
- check the menu View > Beacons > Hide Particles, if you see an "X" next to it, uncheck it.
- check the menu Preferences (Ctrl + P) > Adv. Graphics > Max. Particle Count, it should be at about 4000.

6. To detach the Light open the inventory, right click on GOCC - Light Towards Heaven folder and pick Take Off Items.

"THE TREASURE HUNT" for all avatars [on De Lodi & SLang Life islands] is organized to help The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity http://www.en.wosp.org.pl/

Rules of the treasure Hunt:

TREASURE HUNTER CERTIFICATE will be available to buy only on SLang Life island during the event organized by The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity.

On De Lodi there will be boxes with the heart logo of The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity scattered all over the island with a note inside containing congratulations of finding the treasure and its number – one avatar can take only one treasure/box with a heart logo – bring it to Slang and hand it in to the avatar distributing treasures [Puella Korda], this avatar gives out the prize according to its number.

Summary: In order to get your treasure your name has to be on the list of certification buyers and you have to hand the notecard containing number you found over to Puella Korda. If you want more treasures, buy more certifications.

On Treasure Hunters Stalls [a bulldozer with a red heart landmark giver above it] You will find also a note about all sponsors and purchase prices of our treasures.

All of the treasures are precious (original and valuable clothes for men and women, skins&shapes, poses, gadgets, instruments..-> no freebies!), but the deepest hidden once are the most interesting!

Creator: Rock Portello: bInControl, at it's heart, is an Animation Overrider device that uses the terrific open source code originally developed by Francis Chung. While it base is an AO it's does so much more and is designed to make living in second life a little easier . All of these functions are things I would do every day (or want to do) but had to wear several attachments, dig through inventory to find, or write a script to discover. So the idea was to pull all of these together into one easy to use, non-obtrusive hud. The HUD is no transfer, so we are only selling a claim box which you can exchange for the device with the creator. Rock Portello is the owner of Rock On! GOCC in Second Life

During the Finale of Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity the teams of volonteers are formed in many towns and cities of Poland. We decided to form such a team also in Second Life, in order to spread the word and gather money to help the children.

The team is officialy registered by the foundation. We will create a special SL account to gather the money, this account will be the owner of GOCC tipjars. All money gathered will be transfered to the foundation, the settelment wil be based on the transaction history. The person responsible for this is WoodPaker Barbosa - the Chief of the GOCC Team in Second Life.

The events will be held from 5 till 13 January and will include parties with DJs, live concerts, fashion shows and auctions. What is the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity

Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy (The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity) is the biggest and most prosperous charity organization in Poland. Its objectives, included in the status document, are saving children's lives, health promotion and education in the field of preventive treatment. Between 1993 and 2006 The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity has collected and spent over $65 mln for saving lives. Besides humanitarian work, the Foundation is also a powerful medium spreading the ideology of kindness, friendship, tolerance, and openness.

The Great Finale is the basis for all the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity's projects. It is one day long, nation-wide money gathering. All the revenues are turned over to The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. Such attitude allows us to achieve one of the most important goals which is creating the spirit of community, friendship, and unity.

In the past years the GOCC was gathering money for cardio-surgery for children, neonatology, pediatric oncology, rescue of accidents' victims, treatment for kidney's diseases and for congenital defects.
This year, on the 16th Finale, we will be gathering money for medical equipment that can save children with diseases of ears, nose, throat and larynx (for example children with tumours in these areas or with severe burns of respiratory tract).

The GOCC is all around the World. Polish communities living abroad have been organizing events celebrating Finals for many years. Wherever there’s Polish spirit, there’s also the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity!
